A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon March 1, 2010:@ the comment below, poster from India: This aircraft did impact directly into the crowd. The photographer and the people in the foreground were not impacted by the aircraft. Its direction of travel reletive to the photographer was left to right. Such a tragic event.
A visitor from India posted Thu May 7, 2009:I believe that this particular aircraft did not do any manage. However, the other aircrafts which were part of the formation did land in crowded area klling pilots and people on the ground too.
A visitor from Canada posted Tue February 24, 2009:From the videos this aircraft is going to crash if not directly toward this people, then at least in very close proximity. You can watch crash from two different angles on utube videos...
A visitor from United States posted Mon November 26, 2007:The people in the picture are not in any immediate danger. Excellent photograph of the even, as tragic as it is.
A visitor from United States posted Mon January 29, 2007:Actually, after looking at video of the crash (see Youtube) I highly doubt any of the pictured people were killed. The majority of the crowd is outside the frame, to the right of the three photogs. Look at the direction the plane is going: following its nose, not even close to the path of the people in the picture.
A visitor from Portugal posted Thu December 14, 2006:Spectacular
A visitor from Ireland posted Mon October 30, 2006:From inspecting another photograph from a different angle, it seems that indeed, the man beside the car and most probably the three photographers to the right were killed instantly as the plane crashed into them. How did Mark Carlisle get such a photo? Was he injured? Any light he can shed on his experience would be welcomed.
A visitor from United States posted Thu January 19, 2006:I believe the man behind the parked car just got steamrolled in a blaze of jet fuel fire, not to mention the three photographers in the foreground. Mark, you demonstrate remarkable coolness by swiftly taking these pix. I would have been petrified stiff by the collision, and would have been a casualty, if I were there that summer day.
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun December 4, 2005:Tragic event. Havent seen these shots before
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun December 4, 2005:Capturing an image like this takes some doing. just the shock alone of the impact would have most people looking in horror, not photographing!
