N972AN (cn 30097/941) This view is from onboard American Airlines Flight 741 from Chicago, about 35 miles out from the flight's destination of Reno. I first mistook this lake for Tahoe; after checking a map after getting home I found it's really Pyramid Lake.

Superb photo because it actually shows (quite clearly) the rock formation (at bottom of picture) that inspired explorer John Fremont to name the lake "Pyramid Lake." Well done, John. (Gary Schenauer, Fernley, Nevada)
