The dome just in front of the wing is the church of Superga, where a plane carrying the Torino football team crashed on May 4, 1949. They never made it to Caselle airport, also visible in the picture. All of the team's 18 players plus trainers, executives, an interpreter and the crew were killed as I-ELCE, a Fiat G.212CP of ALI-Aviolinee Italiane, hit the church in thick fog.
