Remark Photographer
EI-AOH (cn 180) Aer Lingus celebrate their 75th birthday in 2011. A classic scene from Dublin in the sixties. The Boeing 720, top right, was their first jet and the BAC One-Eleven, top left, their first short haul jet. The Viscount was their first turboprop, actually a -700 series, the plane shown is an 803 originally belonging to KLM

This photo captures a huge shift in aviation history -the beginning of the jet age. About a year after this photo was taken, Viscounts, the first turbo-prop airliners and workhorses of the European shorthaul fleets, were replaced by BAC-111's, Boeing-737's, Tridents and DC-9's.

Great classic photo of the variety within the Aer Lingus fleet from the 60's

Such an amount of classic aircraft in one scene!

P.S. And such an amount of green colour on this photo!

An excellently composed shot of Aer Lingus in transition from turboprop to jet. We are just missing one of their last DC-3's here - they had gone a year or so before.

An extremely worthwhile picture for the record - forty shades of green apart!!

Great shot. Thanks for sharing. 5* I hear EIN are painting a new A320 in retro colors soon. I hope it's this scheme.
