VH-MQC (cn 119) First regd 12.12.67. One of 3 in Australia. Was originally designed by Volaircraft Corporation (USA) in late 1950s. Production later taken over by Aero Commander, marketed as Aero Commander 100. Rockwell took over Aero Commander, so type was then known as Rockwell Commander 100. VH-MQC is an Aero Commander 100 Darter. 335 Model 100s/Darter Commanders & 213 swept-tail Lark Commanders built. Production ended 1971- did not perform as well as Piper Cherokee or Cessna 172, which used lower power engines. |
