Why Finnair decided to trash these photos is beyond me, but I'm glad someone asked if you wanted them! Thanks, Mr. Edvardsson, for sharing with us! More, please!
It is a nice and a sad picture at the same time. Kaleva was indeed shot down on 14th June, 1940, but it was already heading for Helsinki after having left Tallinn a few moments ago. The picture shows how Helsinki airport looked like at that time.
Amazing! Post more. | |
A picture says more than a thousand words. 5 Stars. Tom and Finnair, Thank you very much! Greetings from Brazil.
A most valuable atmospheric and historically interesting shot from a bygone age!
Great. I love the Ju-52 and it seems that photos of the floatplane variant are very rare. Thanks for saving before the photos would be put in the trash. And of course thanks for sharing.
Fantastic Tom and Finnair! I think the unfortunate fate of Kaleva adds the historical value of this picture. Kaleva was shot down 14th June 1940 by a Soviet bomber's gunner. It was during the Interim Peace. Ju-52 was on its way to Tallinn.
