I was the pilot flying this airplane in the rear seat. The Finland guy is totally right. The AH is off to save battery, the speed is 80 km/h, the best endurance speed for the Grob 103. Those who flew the Grob can describe this moment.
Pretty picture, but horizon shows sailplane to be in a left bank while the stick is in position for right bank. Artificial horizon shows level flight and airspeed indicator indicates the aircraft is stationary. I'm confused!?
Some feel of flying in this pic.. hope some day I could merge the flying and photography like this, though lots of practice required in both.. For the comments bellow: The ADI is rarely used in gliders except when the idea is to fly up and in the clouds. That's to preserve battery, as you have no recharge during the flight. The airspeed indicator is probably indicating 80 km/h, not "top speed"; if you look closely, you see the indicator goes through corkscrew-like skale, for about 500 degrees around.
Such a unlucky name for a glider.. In croatian language, GROB means Grave :((
Something also appears wrong with the airspeed indicator.. it looks like it is pegged all the way to the top speed.
Im going to have to agree...your AH is pretty much dead level but it appers to be in a hard bank to the right?
What's wrong with your AI (AH)? Looks like you're on about a 45 deg bank and yet the AI/AH is showing dead level. (And yes, I am a pilot ...)
Nice photo! I fly the G103 by myself and it's a great glider!
Great shot, its nice to see a change powered flight. (I am guessing the attitude indicator is caged so it doesn't tumble during aerobatics.)
Amazing colors over Porto Alegre... Fantastic
Great photo 4 this great city! Congrats
I'd say it was well worth it. Great shot!!
