Farewell my love... | |
I miss them already... | |
Great shot. Too bad those birds are being phased out, and many people, like me, probably will never have the opportunity to see and fly those aircrafts.. I'm from brazil and here we have only Airbus, Boeing, ATR and Embraer aircraft.. I was luckly enough to be a cadet on the air force, so i also flew C-130, CASA 235 (to parachute jump.. best sensation ever), EMB-110, EMB-120 and other nice planes.. But most people here won't have the opportunity to fly a great aircraft like this.
Nose up for Aerodynamic breaking???
Neat Photo, but the TU-154 will not be missed in the UK. Last time I saw one over here was when Balkan Holidays operated them on Flights to Manchester.
Fine! | |
But it sure IS a very nice photo!
To the visitor from Canada: It will ONLY be missed by those like you who only saw them. :-) Those who flew them know that it really IS a unique plane. I have no idea how they managed to do so, but EACH window seat is located RIGHT between the winows so no view (very similar to the new Air Canada business class btw :-D). The bang on your ears at take-off and landing is appalling and so is the noise, especially in the tail, where those engines seems to roar without any sound insulation at all. It was a good plane for its time, but I won't miss it. As Leo Tolstoy said, "let the dead bury the dead".
I had the chance to fly many and many times on TU-154;unique sensations:view, interior, smell of carburant, hotess, noise, depart & landing.
3 and half years after seeing this photograph for the first time, I still think it is among the most powerful shots of the Tu-154 ever. The Aeroflot Tu-154 will be missed by many - some who flew them and some like me who only ever saw them in photo.
The best craft | |
I love how you captured the smoke coming off the tires as well as the reversers kicking in. I always liked the TU-154...a nice quiet and smooth riding plane, not to mention one of the most beautiful looking designs ever made.
On most western aircraft you can select reverse with the mainwheel on the ground, the remark about the nosegear needing to be on the is wrong. Most russian aircraft you can select reverse in the flare. The IL-62 is a great example of this, the two outer engines reversing, just amazing.
Excellent shot. Just like the visitor from Brazil posted, the lines and design of the T-tail trijets like this one, the HS trident and the wonderful 727 are simply beautiful.
Cool shot, stunning capture.
AWESOME PIC!!!! | |
I remember when TU´s from diff. airlines came to Duesseldorf on a regular basis. Miss that unique sound. Rating 4.
Very nice angle! .. I always liked the "design and style" of the trijets cousins B727, Tu154 and the very old Hawker Siddeley HS-121 Trident 1E - clean wings...
This is one of my favorite planes. Used to see it at Stockholm-Arlanda from time to time, love that mean look!
To the person from Denmark: You will find other photos of Tu-154 with the thrust reversers engaged before even one wheel touches the ground. Most aircraft have a system that locks the reverser if there is no pressure on the nose wheel. After the Lauda flight 004 crash, i think. But i find that the Russians trust the pilot more, and i like that :)
Great plane, and one of the most greatest airlines!
Great shot! and to the guy from Denmark, yes, I think it is normal to put the reverse thrust on, as long as all of the back wheels are down
Reverse thrusters are in use before all wheels on ground. It that a normal situation?
I have flown on this type since childhod many many times! I still remeber that they used other type of carrier colours - all white and blue stripe along the windows runnig Aeroflot above. This picture was made in Warsaw - I was there 2 years ago and flew this very Tu154! Very nice flight, comfy seats and nice service! )) Fly Aeroflot! ))
Love the reverse thrusters!
Nice!! | |
Love thos reverse thrusters Awsome pic
I have never seen reverse thrust in action before.
This proves there is a sexy side to every beast. Great shot, I now feel so positivly towards the TU154...
Yes the best plane ever produced in Soviet Union ( Russia).
I love the new aeroflot scheme... it really modernizes their planes. -josh
Really an excellent picture - the engines being reversed immediately on touchdown!
Nice work | |
I never seen more beautifull photo!! Perfect shot!
Captured at the right moment. T.B.
