A visitor from Canada said it! Indeed, the word is "ruggedness", not just the Antonov, but also other Russian aircraft. In some cases looks like a submarine with wings, really. It reminds the ship #2, from the TV show Thunderbirds, in the 60s. ;-) 5*

Those 20 foot diameter propellers suggest that the An-22 is also a wide body aircraft (possibly the first to enter service).
