That's really cool! | |
Finally something different.
Great piece of history, well captured!
As stunningly composed as it is historic
Amazing hystoric picture, with a good efect due to the rain.
Design, design, design! Schiphol was just 6 years old when this was taken. You could literally see through the airport. All the talk about the use of glass to let daylight in is not new. The bridges there have a design life of 60 years. Not all the original ones are in use today though, having been replaced or upgraded. If only more airports were designed like this :-).
I don't quite understand the remark. It seems utterly wrong!
A very good looking aircraft that is
Hold the line captain! What a beautiful plane this was! There was so much variety at Amsterdam during the seventies, a real shame that 80% of all planes seem to be 320s or 737s nowadays. To the visitor below: Yes, the floor was also elevated in the middle of the fuselage; the central wing spar made this necessary, being relatively high. Wonder what they did with the coffee and vodka trolley!
Awesome memories! 5 stars! Thank you
Great shot of classic jet. Schiphol's jet bridges don't seem to have changed in the last 40 years. I did a double take because I thought the photo was current!
Simply stunning! Those were the good days in aviation!
The three small windows on the wings are slightly higher. Am I correct on assume there was an elevation on the floor as well?
What a beautiful aircraft and what a shock for the western world when it first arrived at London back in 1956 having the Comet desaster still in mind!
