Looks like an air-to-air shot. Congrats. What a pity that I had never the opportunity to fly one of them...
Ah, the Tu-124.. I have never seen one flying, I was just born to late... Thanks for sharing this one, Lars
Probably my favorite aircraft, and the shot is as old as I am. What a beauty.
Wow!!! Such a fantastic shot for 1967!
Fantastic!!!!!! | |
Great picture. I miss the unique sound of Tupolevs when arriving at DUS....and I´m glad the cold war is over!!!!!
I love the CCCP registration. I miss the Cold War.
Tu-124 is just like wine... seems better with age.
Superb picture considering its age. A beautiful aeroplane that looks like a scaled up fighter. I remember seeing Tu-104s, fairly common at Heathrow, but I don't think I ever got a 124; thanks for sharing.
Priceless to own this photo! What a sleek vintage machine. I had a Tu124 model when a was a kid many years ago miax707
What a stunning picture! i just love all the planes from the soviet era. i spend hours looking at shots of russian greats on here the tu-154 is a favorite for me and this comes second it has so much character just look at that glass nose. my dream is to go to russia to see these great machines for real some day.
Hi guys, ain't no doubts this is an excellent picture , especially that was made over 40 years ago. No DSC, films, lenses etc. Picture is really, really great.
Yes the cabin floor is raised to allow structural beams to go through the cabin (because of the engines) ...from german wikipedia
Here is a question that I hope someone can answer: I notice that the fifth and sixth cabin windows (forward -> aft) are higher on the fuselage than the remaining cabin windows. (I believe that I have seen this arrangement on on other vintage Soviet civil designs.) My question is this...why? Is because of the wing box? Wing spar carry-through? Is the cabin floor raised at that point, following the windows? Any light that could be shed on this will be appreciated!
This photo was taken nearly 44 years ago and it is so clear! And it is of a fantastic machine!
It bears a slight resemblance to the DeHavilland Comet. Great photo of a unique aircraft! I couldn't believe this was taken in 1967.
Classic aircraft, classic livery ! Excellent photo !
Wonderful shot of a vintage aircraft.
My Grandfather^s plane.
Love a model plane of this. Hang it up by my bedroom!
Beautiful plane. I love the way the russians have their own view of how a plane should look. Great engineers. Too bad nowadays a lot of russian planes are in bad state, which leads to accidents and bad reputation. I have absolute faith in the russian designers.
BRILLIANT!!! Thanks for this photo!!!!!
It more like a painting, than a photo... Amazingly!
A very beautiful plane and a nice shot!
Classic photo, 5 stars! But the plane itself is one of the most unsuccessful in the history of Soviet aviation.
Brilliant! Looks absolutely awesome.
Good colour photo from tu-124,most of them that worked are in b/w photos.this one is great...
True russian classic Nice
Great plane and unique photo
What a fantastic shot of a true classic. Excellent. Thanks Lars for sharing this beauty with us. John (53 Sqdn)
Looks like a still from Thunderbirds! Great pic thou!
I don't know what's more interesting, the paint scheme or the aircraft. Super detail. And not a spot of dirt on the airplane. Classic all around.
A rare aircraft even in the 60's! and a great shot!
