Inflatable slides? Ha, we don't need no stinki'n slides.

What a shot. But I wish more info about the moment could be given. The closed doors and absence of people or rescue equipment outside are clear evidences of a capture seconds after the aircraft came to a halt. But, at the same time, such a run off like that should bring a large cloud of dust or small debris caused by the contact of the fuselage with grass, even half a minute after the stop. Could the photographer clarify it better? 5 stars anyway!

This illustrates the deeper meaning of the phrase "going through localizer"...

Very unusual position of an aircraft on ground! :^)

I worked as an aircraft maintenance technician at the Tashkent airport between 1984 and 1995. CCCP-85286 was part of the fleet based there, and I serviced it umpteen times. I never suspected it had had an incident of this kind. Thanks for the photo!

A visitor from Canada posted Wed May 7, 2008:
What an amazing photo, its to bad there are no pics of the aircraft evacuation or the event happening. I can't believe you caught the moment where everyone is still on the plane!

A visitor from Romania posted Thu May 11, 2006:
Very rapide airplane in success emergency landed.

Are those passengers still inside the cabin? Did you take this picture the moment after the accident? Looks pretty crazy.
