XJ521 / R-243 (cn 10030) I seem to remember that this event was a rehearsal (to which Joe Public were admitted) for some sort of Royal review. It was a long journey by rail and hitchhiking from London for me!

On some rare ocassion, i vote a 5 star. This is that moment. Very beautiful picture, reminds me of my days making scale models. Great looking plane and background here.

Evocative and fascinating.
A pretty broad representation of the FAA in 1964, I like the Gannets in the air too.

Anti-flash white! 'nuff said I think. The helicopters look rather old and tired, but the Sea Vixen looks spot on.

Fantastic shot!
Sea Vixens, Buccaneers and the flying aircraft seem to be Fairey Gannets.
Plus the helicopters.
