Today March 09, 2011 was the last flight of this plane, as explained in a brochure recieved by all passengers. 85.000 takeoff and landings and 150,000 hours of flight time. This is the last DC-9-30 in Aeropostal. In all the stops the flight and ground crews were taking pictures. Very happy to have been a part of the flight and good luck to Aeropostal!

Retro colors seems to be a fashion in aviation these days: Iberia, Continental, Alaska, Lufthansa, Finnair and many other airlines around the world have gone retro, these days. Aeropostal is not the exception to the rule, especially if they are celebrating their 80th Anniversary. Many people may be nostalgic when seeing this old DC-9-32 in retro colors.

Excellent photo !! I saw the plane in PMV and was outstanding...but I most correct my venezuelan fellowship saying that, unfortunatelly, this airline HAS NOT been operating the full 80 years...It went a few years without flying...non-operative.It surely was a sad time...

Hurra! Viva aeropostal in its 80th birthday!

That looks so cool!

Even if over the last years Aeropostal has been faced with lots of trouble, it has managed to stay alive for its 80th birthday... How many airlines out there have such record? Not many Im afraid. I am sure that many will feel nostalgic about the old times when seeing this picture... Hope to see them regain their status soon, and I hope they keep on flying some 80 more years! Thanks for sharing Luis. Aeropostal, Alas de Venezuela!
