A visitor from United States posted Fri December 22, 2006: For openers teh photo boasts the contrast of the stark reds and gleaming, almost sinister shiny cockpit of the Herk as a reflection of man's technology, side by side with the cool, soft-edged greens of nature (or God, depending on your beliefs). Then, too there's the rigid geometry of the manmade with the open-ended ethereal nature of the Northern Lights. This photo is so different than most "aviation" shots and its uniqueness adds to the mix. And bonus points as my thoughts go out to the photographer, standing in what was undoubtedly freezing weather, making sure the picture was what was intended.
