I used to fly race horses into here from Toronto on dc-4's. Brings back memories.

Fantastic shot! Kind of makes you feel sorry for the inmates at Rikers Island.

Good detail and framing of subject

Vert good La Guardia air shots are rare; this one is perfectly framed to show the airfield and its neighbours (Queens in the foreground, the infamous Riker's Island in the background. Too bad the aircraft window tinting affects the colour a bit and the clouds overhead obscures the runway. Without those two it would be perfect.

Everything, it is a perfect shot period.

I just love aviation pictures... I don't know so much about photographs but this view is amazing.

It makes me remember when I would land at this lovely airport. I now understand why the landing gear was so close to the water...

Clear view of a world famous airport, larger and midsized aircraft going about their business.

Great aerial photo of La Guaria airport and surrounding New York boroughs. Lots of detail and interesting to study.

LGA: The current site of the airport was originally used by the Gala Amusement Park. It was razed and transformed in 1929 into a 105-acre private flying field. The airport was originally named Glenn H Curtiss Airport and later called North Beach Airport.
