Remark Photographer
F-GSQT (cn 32846/618) "AFR 620" had to divert to Lajes with some problems on engine #2. This was a flight from Paris to Guadeloupe that ended on a emergency landing in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, this aircraft landed with the engine #2 in the idle position and had to wait for a new engine that arrived two days later on a Air France 747F, the passengers stayed the night on Terceira waiting for another T7 to take them to their destination. Note the engine #2 during the reverse, it is not motion blured as the #1.

I would feel extremely safe being in a 777 with one broken engine.

Fantastic shot! You can also see the pilot is using the rudder to compensate for the uneven reverse thrust.

So it seems you either get a clean AF a/c or a fully functioning one, not both! ;-)

A visitor from Netherlands posted Mon April 28, 2008:
Well done sir! Only, if you set the engines into the reverse they will be blurred, so probably the #2 engine is not set to the max of the reverse. Great that you capatured that, and that you noticed it!!

Cheers!
