Hold it, hold it, this is not ice forming on the wing, this is some frost due to temperature differences inside to outside of wing skin.
Granted, it may scare those of you who have never actually experienced ice forming on a wing. It would start at the leading edge and continue down the surface, building up in thickness until disrupting the airflow over the surface and initiating a stall to the surface, hats really scary.

That is scary to see ice forming on the wing even in the summer.

The poster above is absolutelly right. This is know as the "cold soaking" phenomenon.

Great picture! Very interesting as well. But how would the temperatures possibly be different inside and outside of the wing structure? It's all outside and had been for a few hours, so it would all be the same temp!

Yeah, that's just frost. Nothing to worry about in its current state. Nice shot still though!

Anti ice will not help this formation as it is only for anti icing the leading edges.

Great picture! Extending spoilers in flight allows for a steeper descent without an excessive increase in airspeed. Looks like this pilot was probably given a "slam-dunk" clearance!

Very interesting to see this, but nothing to be concerned with. After a 5 hour flight, the fuel temperature can be as cold as -30C and rests in the inboard part of each fuel tank, both outer and inner. When the aircraft descends to warmer, obviously (by the clouds) humid air, frost forms when water vapour sublimates on the very cold surface. This frost would not have any significant roughness (because it is VERY cold only within a few microns of the surface) and would not interfere with lift at all... probably less than water would. Let's face it, the pilot is using spoilers to dump even more lift!

Further to the first comment about getting pants wet, if you look closely in front of the raised flap you can see what the co-pilot did to himself when he went out for a look.....
