Love the view of SFU and the mountains - just flows so perfectly with the wing of the 788. Actually got a photo of this exact flight landing a few minutes later...

Nice opportunist capture, but forget the 787, I want to live on that hill!

To the comment about wanting to live on that hill, you can allows move to the Vancouver area in Canada and buy a condo up there. That location is in the city of Burnaby on top of a smallish mountain called Burnaby Mountain which has a peak elevation of 370 metres with the main areas being around 340 to 355 metres above sea level. In this image, the Vancouver area had been having foggy days which as usual made parts of the area look like something out of a movie set. Simon Fraser University (SFU) which is the main 'occupant' takes up a lot of real estate which is surrounded by a lot of condos (apartments). To the left are the North Shore Mountains with the ski hill of Mount Seymour. The little bump sticking up just behind SFU is part of Belcarra Regional Park just across Burrard Inlet. To the right under the wing is the City of Coquitlam and the houses going up the side of the hill is known as the Westwood Plataeu which used to be where the old Westwood Race Track used to be and is at the foot of Eagle Mountain which the peak is blocked by the flap fairing. This picture was made possible by an approach most likely from a flight coming in from Asia which flew in and circled north of YVR then turned south and then west to come in on Runway 26R. Usually the winds around that time of the day are from the east so you fly straight in from the west and land on 08L. With the fog and the wind direction at that time of the day, DingShen was very lucky indeed! Nice capture!!

Outstanding shot. great scenery, perfect fog in the valley, beautiful wing tip, airbrakes on for slowing on approach. So much to say about this. Perfect.

Stunning view, well done DingShen.

@ The long comment: Thank you for the detailed info, indeed the 787 was coming from Asia, she was operating AC26 from PVG. Definitely one of the longest if not the longest comment I've read on airliners.net!
