The best way to travel between TLV and North America at the moment, on board Air Canada's brand new Boeing 787-8 Business class , seen here at the start of the boarding for flight ACA85 to Toronto. In a few minutes this cabin was completely full for the 12 hours and 30 minute flight to YYZ.

I have to agree that those seats are by far the best J seats around after flying laid out on them however... Those tinting window shades are COMPLETELY useless at blocking direct sunlight and I needed to place a pillow over the two windows in order to be able to sleep. The whole J cabin was lit up because of those crappy shades. Boeing needs to rethink this or go back to real pulldown blinds. Tech doesn't win out over tested and proven in this case. The other 'pain' is the armrest in the non-aisle side. It will make your lying down position awkward as it makes that arm resting on it fall asleep or get all fidgety because it's just in an odd spot. The footwell is finally not an issue as it was with the old blue J herringbone layout whereby your feet were twisted to one direction when you lay down. Always hurt like hell when you woke up or the pain woke you up. Not so in these new J seats. The other cool part is that you can now order drinks and snacks right from your seat using the HUGE touch screen. Even though the screen doesn't tilt, the viewing angle seemed to be perfect at any angle while in those seats. That was odd as I was sure the image would suffer when lying down but it was just as good as when sitting up. Not having to put the screen away like in the old AC J class was another bonus which meant you could keep watching the flight's progress on approach under 10,000'. AC gets 8/10 for those seats, two points off for that inner side arm rest. Can't fault AC for the window shades as that's Boeing fault.
