A visitor from Poland posted Mon July 3, 2006: The front gear is moved so far to the back of the fusalage, to avoid some objects (dirt, snow) falling into the engines. Landing and take-off speeds are very high.

How about for a smaller turning radius on an exteremely long plane? Remember, the Concorde is very close in length to a 747. Beautiful shot BTW, great timing. :-)
