I can tell you that the same thing is at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, and probably enough other airports as well... at AMS it is at(also!) Rwy 09-27, the 'Buitenveldertbaan', and to be honest you can surely hear planes take off (or mostly taxi, t-o's from it are not too common...) but really, it doens't get that loud at all underneath as much of the noise is shielded away from you by the runway/bridge itself obviously, and in fact it is not fun to be under there when a plane takes off... cos despite being so close you (again obviously)can't see any action from there.... where you wanna be is moreorless where the photographer of this shot is standing here, or a little closer... 1 last thing... liking the smell of kerosene is a good thing for you if you drive through these tunnels per bike as I do, or with windows open.

This road is Autoroute A1, the 777 is landing on rnw 09L, only used for landing:).

I wonder how loud it gets in that tunnel when a jet is taking of on that runway?
