A cute winged breadbox from yesteryear. Really goes to show how aviation has evolved.

Ugly toad. But it (not she) is too funny. Sorry, it made by france so it's not toad but frog. Funny frog by frog eaters.

I like this airplane very much.

Beautiful, clean shot of an iconic plane. By all accounts the 763 was a hard worker and very reliable. The top half reminds me of a regular airliner - the bottom one of the post-WWII British bomber conversions to pax carrier. Interesting tail, like most French ladies ;)

I flew on this plane several times from Orly to Algiers and from Algier to Bone in the east of Algeria. It was an amazing plane and I loved to fly in it. This photo depicts what a wnderful aircraft it was. How I wish it or other similar Breguet planes were still flying. Donor Macneice

Seems like a clever conception, if you want to move as many passengers as you can without building something humongous and expensive. A true air-bus:)

Hi peter!
i really appreciate your shot!
she is a real collector

A visitor from - posted Mon February 6, 2012:
A maximum of 135 passengers could be transported by this aircraft. Air France operated it with 59 pax on the upper deck and 48 pax on the lower one.

A visitor from - posted Mon February 6, 2012:
How many passengers was it capable of handling?

A visitor from - posted Mon November 28, 2011:
Not the best looking aircraft in the world but it brings back memories of seeing them regularly at Heathrow

A visitor from United States posted Mon July 18, 2011:
A very interesting machine and great photo. Slide Film and Civil aircraft, an unbeatable combo. As far as looks, I'd say the nose on this one is still "prettier" than on the A380 :)

Was called " Breguet deux ponts " ( Double deck )

I think it's cute!

If ever an aircraft earned the moniker BUFF it's this Sky Hog!

A visitor from Canada posted Tue July 6, 2010:
That is one butt ugly plane, but a very good picture.

A visitor from - posted Tue July 6, 2010:
A380's grandpapa :^)

It's a giant bumble bee!

***** stars : so rare to see now a magnificent photo in flight of such a rare bird. The Breguet 763 "Deux-Ponts" ("double-decker") was known for her low ascending rate at MTOW : five kilometers from the runway, I saw one overflying me at a barely 100m height !

A visitor from United States posted Sun May 30, 2010:
That plane is friggin ugly.

A visitor from United States posted Sun May 30, 2010:
Looks like the experimental model of the Super Guppy!!!

A visitor from Belgium posted Sun May 30, 2010:
Looks like an early Beluga.

A visitor from Japan posted Sun May 30, 2010:
Guess who airbus copied for their a380????? :b nice photo

A visitor from - posted Sun May 30, 2010:
Looks just like she was captured yesterday, even if this bird supports the time-honoured adage that if it's ugly it's British, if it's wierd it's French, and if it's ugly and wierd it's Russian! But we love it anyway and what we wouldn't give to see one in the air again...
