Always sad to see planes destroyed like that ...
Wait! Wait! Stop! I'll take it since you obviously don't want it anymore...
Makes me want to sneeze | |
Who would want a job destroying a plane like that?
Why would they want to waste such a perfectly good airplane like that?!? They could have given it to another airline. What will become of all the other Air Gabon Planes.
Someone wrote "Air Pabon"instead of Gabon on this poor plane just below the blue line. Pas bon means NO good in french!
Sniff sniff! Shame really, but nothing lasts for ever! Jay48
This one was in AERO magazine's spotlight in the January 2007 issue as one of the best shots of 2006.
Last time that bird looks at the sky! it is a waste but the metal become fatigued. i want to restore a 747-200 back to qantas 1980s colours and live in it when i earn enough money becoming a pilot
I flown in this same Boeing from LBV to CDG many times in the past and every flight was a dream. Well, i guess this is how it ends for " President Leon Mb'a " :(
So sad why dont they just unscrewer it or give it to someone.poor thing, sad way end its service but the 747 will get its revenge. a380 one day...js11
This is what is going to happen if a plane approaches its end of life in which is not planned, this is actually normal for older aircraft; they are scrapped and sold but it is not profitable/very cheap because the content is highly mixed (e.g. Aluminum mixed with Carbon Fiber and Titanium)and therefore hard to recycle. Not so with Airbus, and its A300/A310 now approaching its end of life cycle. The end of life process has been put into practice several years ago. First and old Airbus aircraft is cleaned, its parts are checked and certified and will be used for spare parts in the remaining A300/A310. The remaining parts will be carefully separated from each other (e.g. separate Aluminum from Carbon Fiber from Titanium), melt these down and recycle these parts to produce new aircraft. How much more in the A380! its life cycle is thoroughly planned from design, to construction, to entry of service till end of life, all is going well for the A380. So, to all Airbus fans not to worry when this happens to any of your favorite aircraft because Airbus planned how to end and start and aircraft's life!
Why are they destroying it? i would have taken the 747 myself if no one wanted it! unacceptable, waste of a good airplane. thankyou for showing this so people learn this is a big problem.
:( r.i.p. | |
This looks just wrong... I look forward to the day we get to see the same process happening to the a380.
Even that guy "works in the aviation industry"
Very sad photo, what a terrible job to do. It's like putting down a dog.
Very sad :( | |
What a sad scene...RIP | |
It reminds me of a wounded elefant trying to escape from her predator... too sad.
Extremely sad to see such a beautiful aircraft get destroyed R.I.P.
Despite being a sad sight, the -200s have reached the end of their life. It's the A345's turn now!
I can't imagine they doing in with the A380 one day...
This is a very sad end for this queen of the sky's...
RIP. She'll live to fly another day...if only in our hearts and minds.
RESO | |
It is beautiful | |
Very Sad Moment...I flew in this one 20 times (1976-1985)
Aircraft being gobbled up by a mechanical mantis
A hermit Grab... | |
Poor boy... a great bird in this way...
Sad picture ... Just save the cockpit for diplay purposes in a aircraft museum...i hope it's not to late..
Don't do it! I want its head!
The dying beast ... run, beast, run, fly, before it's too late!
GN Staff in JNB - this is real sad to see this big bird chopped up, looong weekends on the maindeck -uplifting well over 50tons of cgo-Also sat in Cockpit upon landing in Rome going to France RIP - Leon M'ba - think I need a group hug!
This pic really made me sad! :(
So sad! I worked on this COMBI plane many and many times in FCO as ramp agent. W&B and flt ops were very interesting and every time it was a challange! Ciao LEON MBA
Well this is a violent death for this jet. R.I.P old 747. But this 747 will not rest in peace eternaly. Don't be too emotional, for this death will come new life. They will make new and better aircraft from this old plane. Life's just a cycle. Sometimes you're on top and sometimes you're at the bottom. It's how it should be... ☺
This picture is brutal! I worked as a crew member on this aircraft for 6 glorious years! We had the best 1st class cabin amoung hundreds! Rest in peace "JG".
They can't do this! Sell me the plane, I won't kill it. In fact, I'd restore it to its former glory...
Very Sad Moment!!!!!....R.I.P :(:(:(...
What a sad sight... looks like a vulture is feeding on a falled gaint!! RIP 747
Feel sorry for that poor HYUNDAY. All eyes are on ol' dirty B. :P
Amazing shot.. Some of you guys are so emotional. :) You can't just lease behemoths like these just lying around.. The ultimate sacrifice for the aircraft of tomorrow.. That's the optimistic viewpoint.. ;)
Super | |
Oh, so sad, I hate seeing planes demolished. A gloomy day, too...
I saw this nice bird many times at Nice and LBV. This is a logical end for our friends the aircrafts (enven if they are our passion).
You see , how this King of SKY is badly treated by this machine. Sad ending of Great king.
It's sad to see the destruction of my dream lover. She is trying to escape, but somehow ... Let me have a piece of ... o..(
It looks like the aircraft tried to escape from inevitable destruction, so sad!
Hope they let the passengers get off first.....
Rest in Peace | |
Last moments of a beauty, It's always a sad sight.
That's absolutely halarious.
Hey people stop crying like kids...it's just an airplane made of metal, and the metal we'll get from it will be used to build other planes...that's the recyling process ;)
As one person said "one of the saddest sights ever" Come off it, at the end of the day its only an areoplane.
I can feel a terrible pain in the back of my neck and I feel paralysed from the neck down.....The lond hard hours this lady worked in and out of JNB, MRS, LBV, CDG, LGW, FCO and before that and look how that crane bites her.....It is not right! Garth
LOL, some of you guys are too emotional
Its a sad scene. Looks like some sort of sacrifice, why dont they just leave these birds out there onthe deserts, like Mojave.
I flew in this one back in 1985...
I hate seeing Boeings being destroyed especially 747's one of the most beautiful Aeroplanes ever built.
Vey,Very Sad The Queen of the skies shouyldnt be treated like this.JT-age 11
Hey why get rid of it, i'll take it for free witch im sure would cost less then takeing it apart. anyways sad but good pic.
Not a graceful way to leave this world P.S. A crab eating a fish head............what the heck is that all about!?!?
It hurts to see this bird's end. I don't like this picture very much. Rest in peace my dear friend
R.I.P =( | |
Very sad indeed...reminds me of a crab eating a fish head...
Hey, leave the remaining for me!!! Someone could do a FS set...
Sad to see such a nice aircraft get eaten up. Looks like it was trying to escape!
My eyes are watering...
Shocking. Why don't they unscrew it? OK OK, why isn't there anyone paying for the aircraft to be unscrewed? rgds / (gp)
I dont think it's sad, it's just interesting to see the structure of the aircraft. come on people, it's not an animal or a human or a living thing so no - it's not sad :)
Yikes! Thought it was a sort of crash...
I flew on this aircfrat when i was young, i'm so unhappy looking at it like that... Rest in peace "Leon M'ba"
Goodbye, ole' bird. RIP
President Leon Mba has finished his life. Sad, very sad:( And what will be the successor of this one?

Pains my heart..a woefully looking jumbo pathetically looking up to the skies for solace..akin to the goat in an abattoir...sad sight this of the greatest workhorse ........gbala
A sad end to a magnificent aircraft, when you see them in the air you never think of how they end their service life, very sad.
What a cruel end :( the queen dethroned n defiled..
It's really sad.. But wait-i think a new one will be born..
