Aviation Photo #0953997 Airbus A319-111 - Air Malta

[ Medium Large ]

The little Airbus, seen ahead of the mighty 744s of BA, (G-BNLI and G-BNLM), heads in a completely different direction to that of the runway! As can be seen by the other aircraft there's an obvious sidewind component today to deal with. The Air Malta has left behind an enormous wake as can be seen in the cloud behind it. Spectacular effect to capture and witness.

I've been studying aerodynamic, and so i've been showed many pic by instructors illustrating wake turbulence, but this one is by far the best!

This picture should be in every flight student's kit, to help them visualize wake turbulence and how deadly it can be.

There's something in this shot that really emphasises the scale of the 747s. Capturing the water vapour moved by the aircraft turbulence also gives it the sense of movement.

Wow, at first I thought: Three parallel approaches, what airport is this? Amazing to see what a crosswind can do!

Thats an average day at heathrow - we dont have 3 or 4 runways we use one for landing and the other for takeoff. note each plane is 3 miles apart bravo mate.
