A visitor from United States posted Tue June 2, 2009:Truly a once (maybe twice) in a lifetime shot! How often can you see aurora borealis while in a plane?
A visitor from Spain posted Fri May 29, 2009:This is something that makes us get up every day, fantastic job !!!
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Tue November 11, 2008:Personally, if I was a pilot of an airplane that is flying this close to Aurora Borealis, I would make an PA and inform the passengers... this is something that passengers would not object to, highly doubt it.
A visitor from United States posted Tue November 11, 2008:Wish I could see them again :(
A visitor from Canada posted Fri September 5, 2008:Beautiful shot, I live just below (yes it's getting really cold already (Sept) but best time of the year for Auroras...Good work!
A visitor from Netherlands posted Sun July 20, 2008:This spring we were in Alaska. Unfortunally we haven't seen the Aurora Borealis, because of the daylight. It was light for almost 24 hours. Perfect picture. Thank you for sharing it with us.
A visitor from Portugal posted Tue October 30, 2007:One of the best shots I ever seen! Excellent work and opportunity. Thanks for posting it.
A visitor from United States posted Sun October 21, 2007:That looks like the "ultimate peace", during a calm and dreamy night.Congrat's on this 5-star !
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sat October 20, 2007:Thanks very much for the comments! Due to it being night-time we were all asked to keep the blinds down, and so it seemed I was the only one who noticed the lights! There was certainly no mention of it from the crew. If anyone's wondering what the dark smudge is on the left below the distant lights, it's actually the formation of the contrails beginning to appear. One of those unforgettable moments of my life, for sure. Cheers Tom
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon October 15, 2007:A rare sight to see; a rarer sight to be photographed with such clarity!
A visitor from United States posted Sat October 13, 2007:Wow amazing photo! The aurora on the left appears to reach the ground! Did they flight crew mention this view at all or did you happen to look out and see it?

A visitor from United States posted Fri October 12, 2007:Wow, I can just see everybody's eyes - the flight crew, stewardesses, pax, etc. -- fixated on that beautiful scene. That's what it's all about. What a beautiful moment of sheer beauty, consumed by green light, aviation, and the comforting hum of 4 CF6 engines. 5*
A visitor from United States posted Fri October 12, 2007:Wow! Spectacular shot! A night shot in flight is tricky but getting the northern lights adds much more to it. Great job!

A visitor from Belgium posted Fri October 12, 2007:WOW It is so beautiful! The green light is stunning thanks to the dark sky. The little winglet reminds us we are not dreaming, we are just flying. Very goos shot! I want to see it for real too ;) !
