F-WWOW (cn 001) The advanced new Airbus A380 flight deck. The most note worthy differences are the new larger LCD screens and a similiar type of CCU to Boeing which is used for the MFD's. A very interesting throttle lever set up with only two reverse thrust levers on the Number 2 and 3 engines. A fantastic a/c which will change the face of travel in the very near future.

A visitor from Germany posted Thu December 29, 2005: I believe what you think is the 777-like FCU (if you mean the buttons besides the autopilot panel) is indeed not for controlling the MFDs, but it is used to display different data on the NAV displays, like Waypoints, Airports, Constraints etc. This would be similar to other airbus types.
A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu December 29, 2005: Detailed and well exposed, well done. the "coloured balls" on the windshield post are probably a low tech but effective way for the pilot to ensure his eyes are in the correct position after he adjusts his seat. Boeing use a similar system.

A visitor from Poland posted Wed December 28, 2005: Great shot! The A380 at first wasn't supposed to have ANY thrust reversers. Airbus assumed that it has enough braking power. But the FAA demanded thrust reversers, so the 2 internal engines received them.
