Long awaited, would like more from different angles
As in general in mechanical engineering an optical beautifull design with proper dimensions stands for good performance and I am happy to see this on the A400M
Great shot, ugly or not hope it lives up to expectations. Yeah love the props.
This is a very nice shot. Thank you for posting it. But I have to ask, besides the A-330/340, why does Airbus find it necessary to build such ugly aircraft? Maybe Airbus needs a design lesson from their French brethren at Dassault! And for those that argue that they military needs efficiency and not style, may I remind you of the SR-71? - Brett
Different planes look similar because physics are the same since the Wright brothers' flight. Its not about copying or whatever, its about being efficient in one role or other, that's why all planes are not exactly the same....
Being a boeing fan,i never knew that airbus would pull this one together...it really looks cool...i cant believe im saying this, but congrats airbus...well,we will see how it performs in the royal malaysian air force soon...
Nice or uggly...Military need efficiency !
I love | |
OK, my grandma thinks all cars loke the same..that is, because she has no sense of cars. my grandma would also think, that all planes look the same. But, the tail section from A400M and the AN-70 totally differs, the engines also, the landing gear belly button is different too. not to forget the props. But of course, both planes have wings, some device to mix the air, and those wheels in the middle and the front. Yeah, maybe that makes it so hard to distingiush both planes for some people, like my grandma...
Not beautiful aircraft.
Photo has all the crispness of technical rendering, clearly informative
Since they are a lot of Military Transport Aircraft on the market, it is not unlikely that a new type like the A400M would look similar like at least one of them. The design is given by design requirements that the aircraft has to meet, and not by competitors. That is why the result is a similar looking aircraft.
I can't say it's a clone of An-70 but I think it was "inspired" by Antonov ;)
Extremely bright clear photo
Great | |
To my mind, this plane is ugly
You can clearly see the influence of the Antonov 70 on this model.
Simply wonderful, brand-new, looks fantastic. Awesome!
This is what held up the A380? A high powered mutant of some kind inexplicably spawned between the C-17 and the An-22....well I like the props...
In 1998 i read in a german magazine that NATO countries were interested in getting a new-generation prop carrier, in order to withdraw the Transal C160 and the Hercules, but they were reluctant to buy the Antonov 70, that was already around, because some people wanted Airbus to get that contract. Ten years later, it is hard not think that information was more than rumours.
Looks like a small C-17 wannabe with props and an ugly nose. Nonetheless, I think it will be a sufficient C-130 replacement. At least, it better be with the delays and growing expense....
Nice Photo. Too bad its so far behind schedule. I hear some countries are having to buy C-17s to fill gaps from not recieving A400s in time to replace ageing aircraft. Way to go Airbus.
It looks like Ukrainan Antonov 70 which was built about 15 years ago. But in any case it is perfect.
Its beautifull!!! | |
The nose section reminds me of a C-141 and the tail section of a C-17.
Nice photo, love the props. looks alot like the C-17 the tail is identical.
Flares in background are a nice touch.
I can't believe so many people find this airplane ugly! It gives off a deep impression of function over looks and that in itself makes this military craft gracious. Those scimitar shaped props are just breathtaking. I'd love to hear it take off. Good job Airbus!
Nice picture, really awesome aircraft!
Nice photo! i like the contra props :)
AND a first picutre on a.net ;) Congrats! Looks like a short C-130 combined with a C-17...
What a beautiful plane!!
A great milestone for aeronautic industry in Spain. It is the largest aircraft assembled in our country. Also Spain is responsible for 10% of the Airbus 380 and 14% for the eurofighter
Out at last ! | |
Well, I must say that on the thumbnail it looks like a C-17 with props:)
I love those sexy props. This plane looks so much better than the aging C130.
Must be a brand new aircraft; never seen this one before. Looks nice!
Very nice | |
Well done Airbus...the fuel savings from the turboprops will probably pay for the airplane in this day and age...
Nice picture, awesome airplane!
I cannot wait to see this beauty in full Luftwaffe colors!
Nice Airbus. A C-5 Copycat
Boy that thing is ugly! But very good shot of it
Congrats Airbus for yet another feat in aviation history... Interesting to find mid-air refuelable part in the front... Just imagining about Airbus coming out with A-380 along with backdoor entry like of A-400 !!!!
The props look good. The rest is ugly.
If the STOL capability, power to weight ratio, fuel consumption and cargo handling is better than a C-17 we have a winner. But even if they are, the politicians decide anyway.
Beats US-military planes 6-0
Love the Herc, but it is getting long on the teeth... this is the Herc-replacer I guess
Sorry guys..but I think it's ugly..
Beautiful! And there's a Malaysian flag there too! Just glad the RMAF decided to get some of these.
Fantastic looking plane, looking forward to see this one fly!!
Looks like an antonov an-22 to me
Good looking baby... | |
Nice looking baby... | |
Almost more massive than the A380... What a beast !
Welcome to the skies, A400m!
It does look a lot like a C-17, except for the props and the refuel boom. Very pretty.
...and another beautiful airbus is born.
An excellent view of a new aircraft showing its useful purpose of general transport and long range reconnaisance duties. I wonder if the props are of the contra rotating type... A nice clean shot of a powerful newcomer..
OK.... So this is how they managed to delay the A380 for 3 years.
Wicked looking machine!
Looks like a cross between a C-17 an Antonov An-70 and the CASA... Very cool!
Looks like nice competition to Hercules or C-17 from US. Good job. Hope it's as good as rest, or even better.
Looks great! | |
Great shot. Thanks for getting the first A400M on A.Net. She can't hang with the Boeing C-17 however...keep trying France.
Simply beautiful! Amazing aircraft! 5 stars!
Great aircraft. having the first aircraft of the series, this photo is so special
Finally! She sees the light of day! After so many years...
great looking plane. nice to see a new turboprop transport.
Haha, it looked like a small C5 galaxy, until I noticed the props. Looks like a beast.
So many years wishing to see this plane. I like her very much!!
Its a European C130....They pretty much copied the configuration. But nice photo and unique props.
Interesting aircraft. How standard is it to have counter rotating props on the same wing?
A nice looking aircraft. Being a Boeing fan, nevertheless Congrats to Airbus!
Nice rob to the an-70 | |
Beautiful Aircraft | |
What a beautiful plane!..A very big lifter is born; Thanks Airbus!
Looks like a propeller version of C-17. But Looks good. Thanks for sharing this picture.
Plane is cool, though I'm not too keen on the C-17-like tail - that part is a bit ugly. Props look wicked though.
This beauty looks like a hybrid mix of the different transports... the C-17, the Transall C-160, the Hercules... and ends up beating all of them in the looks department! Hoping to see her soon!
Note also the props rotate in opposite directions too.
What a beautiful An-70... oops, A-400M. In the West people say all the time that Russia copies their aircraft, what do they have to say now?
Dosent look too bad at all......Infact i love tose propellers of hers as well as the refuelling boom above the nose, interesting entry into military equipment for Airbus. Here's wishing them all the success. Cheers - Vishal Jolapara
Welcome new beauty to airliners.net!!!
Looks alot like the C-17
#1! Congratulation. 4 x 11.000 hp + fly by wire makes sure many spectacular ones will follow..
What about those fab props then!
First picture of a historic day for Seville air industry, joining Toulouse & Hamburg...
