NC91006 (cn 20208) I had just found out about this and had to go investigate. This aircraft was delivered to the USAAF on May 5, 1944 as 43-15742. It was acquired by Alaska AL as NC91006 in 1946, and crashed on Jan 20, 1949. Unfortunately 5 POB lost their lives. It is located at its exact impact point about 35 miles north north east of Homer, AK. It's amazing the clarity of the registration on the wing after 54 years.
