787-8 with his big bro 747-8 on the VCV ramp. Not exactly an easy shot as the air is very rough near the surface in the high California desert as we flew the approach low and slow.

A truly amazing shot! You captured the 747-8F with the Dreamliner next to the 10 Tanker Air Carrier. Never thought I'd see such a thing!

I'm wondering too: what were they doing down there in California?
In any case; a truly amazing shot!

Great catch! Finally a picture that shows the true size of that chunky monkey (787-8). I actually thought it was smaller but being next to the DC-10 gives you a good idea of actual size. She's a fatty! ;)

Rare photo from Victorville. Shown is also 747-8KZF,N5017Q,cn 36136. The day before (June 8)returned from the longest 747-8F flight up to now --- 11 hours, 21 minutes.

So cool! It's where yesterday and tomorrow meet! Some day, 30-40 years from now, we will see old, retired 787's and 747-800's in the background and the new 7337, or whatever Boeing will call it, in the foreground. Thanks for the time travel.

Ohhh what nice machines!! The 748 looks awesome. Note the fire-fighting DC10 on the right! Its got a huge belly-pod which is filled with retardant which is then dropped on forest fires! Very cool!

I quote (yesterday and tomorrow meet) this is an excellent example of this boeing started 707 with basic technology and look what has come of it a design much the same but with new technology. I love the nose on the 787! These are the future there brothers the past. i wish to be flying these in 5 years when i become a commercial pilot

Nice picture of the Boeing airplanes. Now I get to see them almost everyday test flying at the airport where I fly. they look better in person.

To the people who asked why the planes were at VCV, Boeing tests out here in the desert. They made a couple of flights today right over my house.

Hope it's not destined for the boneyard in VCV,
but that wouldn't make sense, it has only plastic bones and the prospects for beer cans are dull.

What are those 737s in the back? Why 787 at VCV?

WOW!! I was scared for a sec! I thought the 787 was being scrapped! Phew....
