Tail strike? Wait... I guess not!

A visitor from Mauritius posted Sun August 9, 2009:
I taught it was a tailstrike

A visitor from United States posted Fri January 2, 2009:
Nice pic, but not a tailstrike. that jet is a long way off the ground; look at the shadow.

A visitor from - posted Thu June 19, 2008:
Beautiful winglets!!

A visitor from United States posted Wed May 14, 2008:
Tailstrike!!! Tailstrike!!! Tailstrike!!! Damnit not a tailstrike... nice optical illusion in the pic

A visitor from Brazil posted Fri October 12, 2007:
Very interesting picture of the Boeing 737-823, at first seemed a tailstrike had ocurred. Nice to see the AA is beginning to operate the 737-800 with winglets!

A visitor from United States posted Mon August 27, 2007:
Wow great shot you would think the back of the plane was on the runway well shot

A visitor from Morocco posted Fri July 27, 2007:
Just an amazing one, where's the tailstrik? this guy is taking off from parallel rwy, noticed the a/c shadow? good t/o & shot.

A visitor from United States posted Sun July 22, 2007:
American Airlines still has one of the most original aircraft liveries in the world! Perfect shot! As everybody else I also thought it was a tail strike :-)

A visitor from Argentina posted Wed July 4, 2007:
It certainly looks like a tail strike but as you can see is an optical illusion. The Aircraft is depating not from the runway marked with a white line but from the nearer one in the shot.
Anuyway. NICE SHOT!

A visitor from Uruguay posted Mon August 7, 2006:
Is that really the first? wow it loooks nice..when i saw it in the tumbnail view it clearly looked to me as a colision with the runway..it scared me hahah to see the first plane with winglets to colide with the runway. well nice effect!

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sun August 6, 2006:
I thought it was a tail strike!

A visitor from United States posted Sun August 6, 2006:
Look fast you think its a tail strike

A visitor from Netherlands posted Sat August 5, 2006:
At first, this looked like a photoshopped tailstrike :-)...Nice to see AA flying the 737s with winglets as well.

A visitor from Netherlands posted Sat August 5, 2006:
Very nice shot

A visitor from Canada posted Fri August 4, 2006:
Nice angle and nice airplane!! But at first i thought it was a tailstrike cause it's aligned in front of the right hand runway. loll

A visitor from Singapore posted Fri August 4, 2006:
Looks Great!!......

The plane being compressed onto the background by the telephoto lens made me thought that it was a tailstrike at first glance!

A visitor from United States posted Fri August 4, 2006:
Looks like a tail strike

A visitor from United States posted Fri August 4, 2006:
Strange looking photo. The plane looks superimposed onto the background.

A visitor from United States posted Fri August 4, 2006:
Weird looking shot to begin with; in the thumbnail it looks like a horrendous tail strike...but nice contrast of speed and ground. Still hate those winglets though :)

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu August 3, 2006:
Optical illusion, almost thought that was a tailstrike there! Good shot of a good aircraft!

A visitor from Malaysia posted Thu August 3, 2006:

A visitor from Germany posted Thu August 3, 2006:

The winglets net winglets look great.

A visitor from Pakistan posted Thu August 3, 2006:
Good

A visitor from Spain posted Thu August 3, 2006:
I first though it was also a tailstrike, only later I've seen the shadow and realized that what appears to be a centerline under the gear is actually a further taxiway... Very stunning effect.

A visitor from United States posted Thu August 3, 2006:
Awesome takeoff shot...winglets look great on 737s!

A visitor from Netherlands posted Thu August 3, 2006:

Good 738!!! And better with winglets...

A visitor from Austria posted Thu August 3, 2006:
First i thought this is a tailstrike! nice shot!

A visitor from United States posted Wed August 2, 2006:
The thumbnail of this picture is deceiving... It appears that the aircraft is taking off from 35R with a terrible tailstrike!

A visitor from United States posted Wed August 2, 2006:
Great shot of this 738 with winglets. It is deceptive in the thumbnail, making the left winglet look huge, but in reality it is both left and right belnding together.
