N9563Z / 297400/K/E (cn 32204) "Fuddy Duddy", ex 44-83563, Douglas built, painted as USAAF 297400/E/K. Was a VB-17G and firetanker before restoration. It is one of only 9 Flying Fortresses still flying today. If an Airshow comes to your area go see it. For it is one of the most classic and historical planes ever built! Over 5000 of these and their crews were lost to enemy fire during missions above Europe in World War 2. They helped win a war and preserve the freedoms we have today! |
