A visitor from Denmark posted Wed August 2, 2006:Heuh, dramatic /: Line
A visitor from United States posted Sat July 29, 2006:My dad was the pilot for this 767 the day before. he told me the left engine would not go to full power during a step climb enroute. I guess the engine exploded the next day on a maintence run-up.
A visitor from United States posted Sun July 9, 2006:I was the driver of the crash truck that put the fire out. Due to the rapid extinquishment time the photographer must have had lightning relexes to get this shot.
A visitor from United States posted Mon June 19, 2006:First photo: Mr. Bertrán caught the a/c within the first minute or two; notice how the cloud of smoke was still low. Second photo: The work of the firefighters is clearly visible; heavy foam in the fire zone, as well as the rest of the fuselage. To add to some of the comments: Word around LAX is that a/c may not fly again; debris thrown across two taxiways and two runways, coming to rest at perimeter fence; spilled 10,000 gallons of fuel, all of it was contained in clarifier (no fish were harmed).

A visitor from United States posted Thu June 15, 2006:Another big hand for the firefighters. They are spraying the plane with AFFF (Aqueous Fire Fighting Foam).
A visitor from Finland posted Thu June 15, 2006:I think that the truth is that this lady won't fly anymore...
A visitor from Russian Federation posted Thu June 15, 2006:Oh yes
A visitor from United States posted Thu June 15, 2006:There's an FAA investigation now, because fan parts from the turbine punctured the other side of the plane, which by design isn't supposed to happen. Parts are supposed to be contained inside an engine during explosion. Great capture of the moment!!
