N330AA (cn 22330/166) The left engine exploded during a test run. The photo shows 1) how the explosion affected aircraft's skin 2) how the skin was laid out. The aircraft was scrapped in late 2008.

Crazy. I actually found this pic by searching the reg #. The reason? In July of '06 my wife and I were on this plane at KLAX flying to PHNL when it aborted the takeoff right before V1 due to an engine malfunction.
Chilling.

I got to see this a/c in person prior to scrapping on the ramp in LAX. It is very fortunate this occured on the ground!
