N3080W (cn 730) Ex 63-8508.The Penetrator was a proposed gunship conversion of the Bell UH-1. The helicopter was stripped down to engine and transmission mounts, controls modified to tandem arrangement, and various outer modifications have made including four gun mounts and stub wings for increased airspeed. Originaly designed for U.S. Army evaluation, then by S. Korean AF. The end of the Cold War rendered it unnecessary. This is the one and only prototype of the helicopter, pictured here being delivered to its new hangar.
