I love this shot!!! I was just about 100% sure that American Airlines does NOT use Airbus though. I was positive that they used American built only, but I may be wrong. I would put money that this is in fact a 767

What an amazing shot!! American Airlines operated the A300 from 1988 until they were retired this year.

Great picture capturing the condensing air in the engines. American operated A300's as seen from its website, and also note its characteristic wing tips. Not a B767.

Love the condensation in the engines! To reply to the commenter below, this is indeed an Airbus A300-600. American used these mainly for their cargo capacity on intercontinental flights. Regardless, a beautiful plane & a good shot!

Yes, it's an Airbus... Lokk at the edges of the wing, there are small winglets, proper of the A300.

Powerful photo! It is indeed an A300. Never a popular plane with American, especially after the tail detached from AA587. The last Airbus was retired from American's fleet this past summer.

Think you'll find it was the pilots fault for the tail detatching...

This is for sure, an A300. If the cockpit windows don't give it away then you can search the registration number.
