N90730 (cn 43035/61) Delivered new to American Airlines on April 8, 1947. Later converted to a freighter, and went on to fly as CP-927, XA-FIB, again as N90730, and finally as CP-1654. On March 8, 1993, it crashed on takeoff at Santa Rosa Airport in Bolivia. The aircraft overran the 1500m grass runway and caught fire. The occupants escaped, but the aircraft, after nearly 46 years in service, was destroyed. Photo taken by my great uncle and scanned from a slide. Thanks to David Lednicer for retouching the old slide.
