Doors were open in flight, is clear that it is part of the program of tests.
Maybe last night's dinner dinner was backfiring on the crew and a little extra fresh air was needed. Great shot in any case. Love the blurred props, they look like feather dusters.
It's pretty clear that they stuck opened the doors before takeoff. See the green steps holding the doors? Since there are no good windows, maybe they wanted to make some good shots of the engines and they wanted to keep the things symetric, so they opened both doors. :) I also see they have handles to access the door externally. A very nice looking bird.
It is very strange to read ridiculous comments here, rather attentively to study that it for the plane and for what purposes it create, I hope everything becomes clear. Open doors for parachutists create considerable resistance, it is necessary to experience work in actual practice and plane reaction, especially at different heights and speeds.
Multiple exits = better survive-ability for occupants.
May be adding powerful (and heavy) hydraulic system to open front doors was easy than changing the design of doors. Now claim this as defying drag.
Those doors are giving a lot more to talk than the plane itself.
It is designed to be able to drop paratroopers in four streams – two from the ramp and two from the side doors, so a test flight looks like an appropriate moment for trying to open the doors ;)
You can see paratroops jumping from the front doors on Youtube, neat.
What are you all surprised about? You see the step stiking out from the doors? It's for paratroopers.
Maybe someone on board dind't pay the ticket.
Why? | |
Looking out for traffic? Checking the weather? See if the runway is really there?? Interesting picture!
Wicked shot. I really hope we can find out the reason for the open doors. Also, is that a camera at the top of the vertical stabiliser?
Nothing wrong, they either have a new hydraulic system holding doors open into the wind or have hired very very strong guys doing that. Possibly the flaps are manualy operated as well. Don't know who sits in the engine gondolas.
Egad ! Didn't they read the placard on the front doors? "This aircraft is propeller driven: No Paratroop jumps from forward doors."
Why the doors are opened?????? Will this plane be used as a skydiver's carrier? Love the UDF engine.
Here's the problem: the exit doors are open
Speedbrakes inop? No problem!
Brand New Air Conditioning System Huh?
Seems intentional as both main doors are opedn... but why?
So where is the Jumper | |
The Other door is also open. No Coincidence. Brake testing?.
Special, clean, fresh | |
This is actually more then normal for this type. It can do an airdrop for 2-3 doors and a ramp ..
So doors can be used as air brakes.
Haven't seen this happen even in James Bond's movies. A wide open front door of this type? Highly unusual.
