A visitor from United States posted Sun April 16, 2006:I worked on this aircraft for two years from march 1969 to march 1971. We had four 180's that were used to support research on the North Slope and on the Arctic ice pack. These airplanes were used on ski's in the winter and on wheels and floats during the "short summer season". They were the perfect airplane at the time. One of the pilots that flew for us at that time was "Buzz Nelson", who later went to work for Boeing in Seattle and retired as "chief test pilot for all Boeing comercial jets." Quiet a jump for a bush pilot. ( FABP) Fearless Arctic Bush Pilot. | |
