This jet fighter was developed in Argentina by the famous German engineer Kurt Tank, following his WWII Focke Wulf TA-183 project. Due to political, economic and technical problems, the Pulqui-II plan was called off. Between 1950 and 1959 five prototypes were built. The first one to fly was #2 on 27. June 1950 piloted by Capt. Weiss. The plane on the picture is prototype #5, which flew for the last time in 1960.

A pride for our country. The IA33 Pulqui II (Arrow) was the second jet plane made in Argentina. During a test flight a perfect day, sunny and clear the plane got a ceiling of 15000 meters over Cordoba town where was the factory. From the cockpit the test pilot could watch the Pacific Ocean on West.
