Awesome photo Andrew! And indeed a nice size comparison between the 747-400 and the A380...

A visitor from United States posted Thu November 26, 2009:
On any day, I'd pick the A300, A320, A330... over B757, 767 737... But, when it comes to "the big gals" I think B747 puts the A380 in her pocket. Just my opinion.

A visitor from Chile posted Fri October 23, 2009:
Maybe the A380 is modern, but the 747 is so much prettier!!!!

A visitor from United States posted Sat October 17, 2009:
Great photo! I still think the queen looks way better!

A visitor from South Africa posted Sat October 17, 2009:
Nice photo! The A380 still looks like a tick to me...as for the length difference...the 747 is closer than the A380...so she just looks a lot longer.

A visitor from United States posted Thu October 8, 2009:
I don't want to see the 747 go....... As great as you all may feel the a380 is, it just feels bad that no one cares about the purpose for which the a380 was built.....to replace the 747.

The 747 looks longer!!
both aircraft rocks..

380's engines are huge compared with the 747's one...

Although I am in awe of the mighty 380 I cannot help but the think the boeing looks better.....

MUAH !!! (kiss) :)

To a previous commentator

I think the Boeing 747 , being more angular - looks 'muscular' , and therefore masculine, while the Airbus , being rounded, or smoother seems to have a feminine aesthetic.

A visitor from - posted Mon May 25, 2009:
Wonderful picture! I still like the 747 more... :)

A visitor from - posted Wed May 20, 2009:
People can now stop the B747-A380 wars. Just look at them; they're doing the kiss-and-make-up! ;)

Seriously, it's a really nice picture. So far, the 380 looks best with the Qantas theme. And to me, it's the 747 that looks masculine.

A visitor from Singapore posted Wed May 20, 2009:
Mine is bigger than yours!

A visitor from - posted Sun May 10, 2009:
The 747 looks feminine with its curves and the the A380 with its masculinity from its sheer size. lol

I'm so curious to see how their baby looks like!

A visitor from United States posted Wed April 29, 2009:
The 747 wins the beauty contest every time in my book, however this picture really shows the size of the 380's wing. MASSIVE. You can tell it is designed to carry an even larger load than the current design. This is the first photo I have seen with the two of them side by side. Thanks!

A visitor from United States posted Wed April 29, 2009:
The 747 still looks longer than the A380

Just married!

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Tue April 28, 2009:
The A380 is so much more pleasing on the eye...........this photo just reiterates that fact even more!

A visitor from United States posted Tue April 28, 2009:
747 wins in style, a380 wins in size and technology.

A visitor from - posted Tue April 28, 2009:
The 380 is certainly impressive, but this shot beautifully shows how the 747 is timelessly elegant. It always strikes me that the 380 is rather stubby... Just too short for its height, and with a cockpit slightly too low so that the "forehead" is overdeveloped. Perhaps a stretched version will change the visual balance a bit.

Great shot!! always spot off of the 24's but still waiting for my chance to see that monster take off or land.

This photo is in one word - awesome! And definitely a good size comparison. I live just north of the 24's, but have yet to see the A380 land/take off. Thanks for a exquiste photo Andrew!

Great shot comparing the size of these two beasties! The A-380 is impressive, but the 747 is much better looking. Thanks for posting this.
