A4-185 (cn 185) First RAAF Aircraft damaged by enemy fire in Vietnam. Crashed 18/11/64, A Ro Vietnam. It crashed into a ditch dug accross the runway. Engines and wings recovered, fuselage left behind.

Great history pic of course. Checked out the reg. The Caribou was only half a yr old when it crashed. I would not be surprized if the fuselage is still around. So if someone gets the opportunity pls take a shot & upload..

This is an amazing photo capturing not only the predicament of the DHC-4, but also an airdrop from what appears to be a C-123 Provider flying overhead. Its a great historical photo but sad to see the grand Caribou in such dire straits.
