Remark Photographer
A20-103 / D/03 (cn 103) This Wirraway is a genuine combat veteran: victor, no less, over a Japanese fighter (probably a Ki 43 Hayabusa/'Oscar') near Buna, Papua New Guinea, on 26 December 1942. The aircraft was delivered to the RAAF in September 1940 and allocated to 4 Squadron. After combat service mainly in the FAC role, returned to Australia in early 1943 and spent the remainder of the war mostly with 5 SFTS, Uranquinty. Post-war, stored 1945-50 Tocumwal, then allocated 1 AFTS Point Cook 1951-57. Allocated to AWM 1959.
