First RAAF Aircraft damaged by enemy fire in Vietnam. Crashed 18/11/64, A Ro Vietnam. It crashed into a ditch dug accross the runway. Engines and wings recovered, fuselage left behind.

Incredibly stark reminder of the challenges and dangers faced by the Aussies' of 'Wallaby Airlines' during the Vietnam Conflict. Amazing historic photograph. I will be purchasing this one !

I didn't now that Australia participated in the Vietnam war. every day we can lear something new. The picture - a piece of history.

This is an amazing photo capturing not only the predicament of the DHC-4, but also an airdrop from what appears to be a C-123 Provider flying overhead. Its a great historical photo but sad to see the grand Caribou in such dire straits.

Great history pic of course. Checked out the reg. The Caribou was only half a yr old when it crashed. I would not be surprized if the fuselage is still around. So if someone gets the opportunity pls take a shot & upload..
