A9-605 (cn 185B-5286) An 11 Squadron RAAF P-3B Orion climbs out with undercarriage retracting, at the RAAF Amberley Air Display in 1976. This aircraft was provided to the RAAF in September 1969, as a replacement for A9-296 which was destroyed in a landing accident at NAS Moffett California in April 1968. (A MLG strut fractured on landing, and the aircraft was burnt out.) A9-605 was sold back to Lockheed in December 1985 with 5722 hours TT (Ferry Reg N43005).
