A23-006 / 10 (cn 506) GE Bicentennial Around Australia Air Race - carrying race number 10. 1st competitor to land, at 13:52, flown by RAAF Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Ray Funnell, and Flt Lt G Hewson. During the race, it flew the fastest times around Australia, but was placed 2nd after Aerostar VH-PJC, due to handicapping. A23-006 was built by Hawker de Havilland, rolled out 21.5.1988, painted in CAS special colours. Accepted by RAAF 27.6.1988. Used by CAS for liaison, but in early 1990s, went to 2FTS at Pearce.
