Remark Photographer
N13-154910 / 889 (cn 13783) Rare image of RAN VF-805 A-4G Code 889, taken after her 'After-Flight' Servicing, late in the day at Williamtown in 1970. (Note the un-skinned rudder trailing edge, as the aircraft reflects the late sunshine.) This aircraft, Delivered in Nov 1967, crashed off HMAS Melbourne near Singapore on 08Mar1973, due to a catapult failure. The Pilot stayed in the aircraft as the ship passed over him. He then freed himself and was picked up by helicopter. Low res photo.
