RAAF Sabre A94-362 blocks the setting sun at RAAF Base Williamtown on 11May1967. The Sabre, affectionately known as the 'Sword', was fitted with a Rolls Royce Avon engine. This aircraft (Del: Jan 1961), in yellow/black 2(F)OCU colours, was photographed as the crash siren was sounding. Other Sabres were launching to look for Wg Cdr Vance Drummond, who was lost in one-month-old Mirage IIIO(A) A3-77 in the ocean off Newcastle that day. This aircraft went to the Royal Malaysian Air Force in August 1969.
