| A visitor from Sweden posted Wed January 31, 2007: I've seen this before, 79-80 I was doing my military service at the swedish airforce. The turbine was started up first with a small electrical device you could hear spinning up, and quite short after that the starter turbine kicked in, producing this yellow cloud you shouldn't breathe in. After 8-10 seconds of a loud hiss it stopped, and then you heard the turbine has lighted up. J35 Draken actually looked like a big ready-to-act hawk, sitting there waiting to fly and strike...I really loved that plane. To sit in its cockpit was like taking on the jacket. You became part of the airplane. High speed on the finale, difficult to handle, but the pilots said it was fantastic to fly when you learned to handle it. But you couldn't let go of the concentration at any time, then the plane hitted you at your fingers directly... /Jozzi in Sweden | |
