Remark Photographer
It's just the beginning of the Summer of Love, but some of the passengers on this BEA flight don't seem too excited. Maybe it's because the postmodern style of this cabin's decor is at odds with the wild psychedelic colours of 1967. A mixture of forward and backward facing seats allowed passengers to keep an eye on each other.

Excellent historic shot! We're trying to recreate this with Trident 1C G-ARPO (www.savethetrident.org)

Interesting piece of history. I, too, flew on one of these Tridents (LHR-ORL) and was taken aback to see rear facing seats (like a railroad car). I was quite relieved when I took my forward facing seat!

Lol! I thought the same thing about Susan Boyle!

Fabulous quality for such an old and also very rare shot.

What's Susan Boyle doing there?! Very nice photo of a cabin from the golden age of air travel

A visitor from Germany posted Sun March 4, 2012:
Interesting that those who have to face each other are purposely looking away.
I'm sure the airline realized this misconception quickly by declining numbers of passengers and put the seats straight.
